The newcomer His maiden beginning in an England shirt. A bit loose when playing out but his dangerous set-pieces were a threat. A useful tempo-setter available to the manager to call upon versus defensive opponents. Shown a yellow for a poorly timed challenge. 6/10

The midfielder Set-pieces from dead balls and free-kicks were dangerous. Was given license to roam in left midfield but was offside as the pass came in shooting positions. Given a deserved rest around the 60-minute point. 6/10

The star midfielder Functioned in an advanced role out wide while also put in defensive duties. Demonstrated moments of class and mishit a shot over. Substituted in the closing stages by a teammate, his rival, after being booked. 7/10

The winger Had the team's top opening before halftime, his shot well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. With Quansah staying deep, he had to stretch the play on the right but his crosses from the touchline were hit and miss. Substituted late in the match. 6/10

Harry Kane The difference-maker netting 77th and 78th strikes in an England shirt. The opener a trademark close-range tap-in and his next an excellent header after peeling away off his defender. At 32, he continues to improve and the side stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament when he's in the team. Eight

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to make an impact out wide. Was presented with a decent opportunity when set up from a teammate yet the keeper kept it out. Rashford made much more of effect when substituted. Five
