NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes text commentary for the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , after last week's discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games was the amount of infractions each committed. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the final quarter against Denver, who play in London this weekend.

However it proved positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie managed to have the shortfall before lead three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, securing the game by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank first in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver won that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra defenders but they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted on a program that Denver could be this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year well then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has excelled significantly while recent RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver represent a squad that wants to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also helped QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass all over, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, plus he is highly agile.

His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you consistently rush it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defence must defend the field vertically side to side. It can be draining.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. The coach can really build something up the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton has won a championship and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having on offence is largely down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the only team yet to win a game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, this team are also the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they face because Denver {beat|def
