The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.
No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
