On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned phone records and information retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test during 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most widely reported investigations and continues to be unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate voicemail, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I know I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I feel what I know."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone said: "Suppose there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Is that not important for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I only wish to know," she added.

The panel was told that via electronic messages, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and stated to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with law enforcement who compiled the evidence, advised the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with family friends of the McCanns, according to the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, Gerry McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg developed a relationship via internet with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a appearance to the McCanns' property in the county in that winter.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be considered genuine in the period before the appearance to Rothley, that area, in December 2024.

The court learned communications between the two defendants, in November 2024, planning attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We must assert ourselves," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their house, Mrs Spragg sent a message which said: "We're currently sitting outside the McCanns' house with our headlights off resembling investigators. I had hoped to accomplish this with another person I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
